Committee: United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF)
Agenda: Preventing the Recruitment of Child Soldiers

Armed conflicts continue to devastate communities worldwide, and one of the gravest violations of children's rights is their recruitment and use as soldiers. Whether forcibly conscripted, coerced, or driven by economic desperation, thousands of children are exploited in armed conflicts as fighters, spies, messengers, or support personnel. The psychological and physical consequences are profound, depriving them of their childhood and future opportunities.

This session will focus on strategies to prevent the recruitment of child soldiers, strengthen reintegration programs, and enhance international cooperation to protect vulnerable children. Delegates will discuss legal frameworks, enforcement mechanisms, rehabilitation efforts, and ways to address the root causes—such as poverty, lack of education, and instability. The committee must work toward sustainable solutions to ensure that no child is forced to bear the burden of war.
